Ingredients
-
180 g Oat bran, raw
-
1 teaspoon Baking powder
-
1 teaspoon Spices, cinnamon, ground
-
2 piece Egg, fresh
-
50 ml Syrup, maple
-
250 ml Milk, whole milk
-
1 teaspoon Vanilla, extract, imitation
-
4 spoon Butter, unsalted
-
1 piece Apple, fresh
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease a round baking dish (20 cm in diameter) with butter or margarine.
-
Sort the raisins, wash them, and drain. Wash the apple (peel it if desired), remove the core, and then grate or chop it into pieces.
-
In a large bowl, mix the oats, cinnamon, and baking powder. In another bowl, mix the eggs, maple syrup (or honey), melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Pour the liquid mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir well with a spoon to moisten the ingredients. If the mixture seems dry, add a little more milk. Finally, mix in the apple and raisins. Let the mixture sit for a few minutes to allow the oats to puff up slightly.
-
Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Use a spoon to spread it evenly across the surface and press it slightly against the base to ensure the cake is of uniform thickness. Bake the cake in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes. It is done when the top turns a nice golden brown and is baked through.
-
The cake can be served while still warm or allowed to cool completely before serving.
