Steps

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Finely chop the pieces of candied ginger. Prepare the muffin tin and place a paper liner in each cavity. Then, in a bowl, mix the flour, ground ginger, ground cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, and pieces of candied ginger.

Dissolve the baking soda in the milk. In a bowl, using an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy, add the maple syrup, and gradually mix in the eggs. Then slowly mix in the flour and gradually pour in the milk. Mix until you get a smooth batter without lumps.

Fill the muffin cavities two-thirds full with the prepared batter, then place the tin in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.

Once the muffins are baked, let them cool slightly, then arrange them on a serving platter and serve.
