Mulled Red Wine with Orange and Spices

Ingredients

1 l Alcohol, Wine, Red

2 dl Water

1 piece Orange, fresh

8 pieces Spices, cloves, ground

2 piece Spices, cinnamon, ground

2 piece Spices, caraway, seeds

Steps

Wash the orange with hot water and slice it into pieces.

Pour the wine into a pot and add the remaining ingredients (sliced orange, water, spices, and sugar). Stir and cook over medium heat until the liquid almost boils, then reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer the wine for another 15-30 minutes.

Strain the mulled wine through a fine sieve and, if needed, add a bit more sugar. Pour it into glasses or mugs, garnish with an orange slice, and serve the prepared drink while it's still hot.

Advice
You can optionally add 60 ml of brandy to the mulled wine. Instead of regular sugar, you can also use honey or another natural sweetener of your choice.
