2 pod Garlic, fresh
-
3 pieces Onion, young
-
100 g Cheese, groats
-
3 pieces Egg, fresh
-
50 g Butter, unsalted
-
1 dl Milk, partially skimmed
-
2 pinch Salt, table
-
2 pinch Spices, pepper, black
Steps
-
Clean the mushrooms under running water, dry them, and slice them. Wash the onion, peel it, and cut it into rings. Peel the garlic, crush it with a knife, and chop it finely. Grate the cheese. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured work surface to a thickness of 3 mm and cut it into 2 pieces.
-
Melt the butter in a pan and sauté the mushrooms and garlic for 5 minutes while stirring. Then season with salt and pepper, add the young onion, mix, and sauté for another 2 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat. Beat the eggs in a bowl and whisk them well, then add the milk and grated cheese and mix the mixture well.
-
Preheat the oven to 200 °C. Place one piece of dough in a round baking dish and press it lightly with your fingers against the bottom and sides of the dish. Arrange the mushrooms on the bottom and pour the egg mixture over them. Cover everything with the remaining dough. Press the edges tightly together and trim any excess dough. With the leftover dough, you can make some decorations and place them in the center of the pie.
-
Place the baking dish with the pie in the preheated oven and bake in the middle of the oven for 20 minutes until the pie turns golden brown. Remove the baked pie from the oven and serve it directly in the baking dish.

Advice
Puff pastry can also be prepared at home. Frozen puff pastry must be thoroughly thawed before use. The easiest way to thaw puff pastry is to leave it packaged in the refrigerator overnight. If this is not possible, place the sheets of puff pastry on a plate next to each other and let them thaw at room temperature for 30–60 minutes. Puff pastry contains a lot of fat, so there is no need to grease the baking dish additionally. The pie can be brushed with beaten egg before baking. Instead of champignons, other types of mushrooms can also be used.
