Ingredients
-
3 spoons Oil, olive
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
1.5 spoons Tomato, concentrate
-
2 pod Garlic, fresh
-
4 pieces Tomato, red
-
2 cans Fish, tuna, in oil
-
pieces Salt, table
-
1 teaspoon Sugar, white
-
pieces Basil, fresh
-
450 g Pasta, Macaroni
Steps
-
Peel the garlic and onion, and finely chop them separately. Wash the tomatoes and use a small knife to remove the stems. Cut them into chunks.
-
Heat olive oil in a large pan and sauté the chopped onion until translucent. Add the garlic and tomato paste, and fry everything together while stirring continuously for 1 to 2 minutes. Add the tomatoes and pour in about 0.5 deciliters of water. Cover the pan and cook the sauce over low heat, stirring occasionally, for 25 minutes or until most of the tomatoes break down and you get a medium-thick sauce. Season with salt to taste, and if it’s too acidic, add a teaspoon of sugar.
-
While the sauce is cooking, heat salted water in a large pot for the pasta. Add the pasta to the boiling water and cook it for the time indicated on the package.
-
Rinse the basil sprigs under running water and shake them dry. Remove the leaves from the sprigs and roughly chop them. Open the cans of tuna and drain the excess oil. Add the drained tuna and chopped basil to the sauce, and cook it over low heat for another 2 minutes.
-
Drain the cooked pasta and mix it into the sauce. Serve the prepared dish on plates and, if desired, sprinkle some chopped basil on top.
