Ingredients
-
280 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
120 g Sugar, white
-
1 teaspoon Spices, cinnamon, ground
-
1.5 teaspoons Baking powder
-
1 pinch Salt, table
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
180 ml Milk, whole milk
-
80 g Butter, unsalted
-
1 piece Pear, fresh
-
1 cup cherries, compote
-
1.5 spoons Sugar, brown
Steps
-
In a small pot, slowly melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove the pot from the heat and let the butter cool slightly. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease a small deep baking dish well with butter (or line it with baking paper).
-
In a large bowl, sift the flour and mix it with sugar, cinnamon, salt, and baking powder. In another bowl, whisk the egg with a hand whisk, then mix it with the milk and melted butter.
-
Wash the pear, peel it, and cut it into small pieces. Drain the soaked cherries well. Pour the mixture of butter, milk, and egg into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Mix well with a spoon or whisk until the ingredients are combined, then fold in the pear pieces.
-
Spread the prepared batter evenly in the greased baking dish, then scatter the soaked cherries over the top. Finally, sprinkle a little sugar over the batter and cherries. Place the dish in the preheated oven for 20 to 30 minutes. When a toothpick inserted into the pastry comes out clean, remove the dish from the oven and let the pastry cool slightly.
-
Cut the pastry into squares or rectangles of your desired size and serve with a warm or cold beverage.

Advice
Instead of milk, you can use buttermilk or yogurt, and the soaked cherries can be replaced with fresh or soaked sweet cherries.
