Pear Compote
A delicious dessert made from pears, cooked in water with cinnamon and cloves. It can be enjoyed on its own or served with pancakes and caramelized sugar.

Ingredients

4 pieces Pear, fresh

pieces Juice, lemon

1 bag Sugar, white

1 spoon Sugar, white

0.5 piece Spices, cinnamon, ground

3 pieces Spices, cloves, ground
Steps

Wash and peel the pears. Cut them into quarters and remove the stems and cores.

Place the pears in a smaller pot and cover them with enough water to fully submerge them. Add a cinnamon stick, sugar, lemon juice, and cloves. Cook uncovered over moderate heat until the pears soften.

Once the pears are cooked, remove the cinnamon stick and cloves. Drain the pears but reserve the liquid. Blend the pears with an immersion blender until smooth. Add enough of the reserved liquid to achieve a smooth mixture.

Serve the pear compote in bowls, either warm or cold. Optionally, add a dollop of whipped cream or Greek yogurt.

Advice
Pears also pair wonderfully with cardamom, ginger, and vanilla. Instead of sugar, you can use honey.
