Steps

Wash the lemon, dry it, and grate the lemon zest. Place a narrow and tall pot on the stove, heat the red wine, martini, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, and add the lemon zest.

Wash and peel the pears, leaving the stems intact. Place the pears in the pot with the wine, cover tightly, and simmer on low heat for 15 minutes. Occasionally baste them with the cooking liquid. Remove the cooked pears and let them cool slightly.

Place the still-warm pears on dessert plates, pour the liquid over them, and garnish as desired.
