A fragrant pie with a delicious taste and very interesting to look at. It originates from North America. The taste is very similar to a regular walnut pie.

Ingredients

2.5 dl Syrup, maple

1 pod Vanilla, extract, natural

250 g Sugar, white

250 g Nuts, pecan

300 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose

200 g Butter, unsalted

100 g Sugar, white

Steps

Prepare a shortcrust pastry from the ingredients for the dough. Wrap it in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for 60 minutes.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a thickness of 4 mm and place it in a pie dish. Gently press it against the bottom and sides of the dish with your fingers. Trim any excess dough. In a bowl, mix the eggs, maple syrup, salt, and sugar. Cut the vanilla pod in half lengthwise. Use the tip of a knife to scrape out the seeds and add them to the bowl with the other ingredients. Mix well again and pour the mixture onto the dough. Spread it evenly.

Preheat the oven to 220 °C. Shell and clean the pecans, then distribute them evenly over the filling. Place the pie dish in the oven and bake the pie for 10 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 180 °C and bake for another 30 minutes.

Remove the baked pie from the oven, let it cool slightly, then slice and serve.

Advice
Instead of whole pecans, you can use 150 g of shelled pecans.
