Ingredients
-
400 g Pasta, Macaroni
-
pieces Salt, table
-
3 spoons Oil, olive
-
700 g Meat, chicken, breasts
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
1 piece Chili peppers, red chili, fresh
-
2 pod Garlic, fresh
-
300 g Tomato sauce, without salt
-
200 g Tomato, pieces - can
-
1 spoon Sugar, white
-
0.75 teaspoons Salt, table
-
2 pinch Spices, pepper, black
-
0.5 teaspoons Spices, oregano, dried
-
0.5 teaspoons Spices, ginger, ground
-
6 pieces Basil, fresh
Steps
-
Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Wash the chili, clean it (remove the stem and seeds), and finely chop it. Rinse the chicken breasts under running water and dry them with paper towels. Cut them into approximately 1.5 cm pieces.
-
Place a large pot with the appropriate amount of water for cooking pasta on the stove. Just before the water boils, salt it. Add the penne to the boiling water and cook for the time indicated on the package. Drain the cooked penne well.
-
As soon as you place the pot for cooking pasta on the stove, start preparing the sauce. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken pieces to the pan. Wait until the chicken pieces turn white, then add the onion and chili. Fry for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Finally, add the chopped garlic and fry for another 2 minutes.
-
Pour in the tomato puree and diced tomatoes, and mix everything well. Season with sugar, salt, and pepper. Then add oregano and bay leaf. Mix well and cook over low heat until the sauce thickens slightly.
-
Rinse the basil leaves under running water, dry them, and roughly chop them. Stir them into the sauce. Finally, add the drained penne, remove the pan from the heat, and mix everything well. Serve the penne on plates and bring to the table.

Advice
When cooking pasta, we follow the rule of using 1 liter of water for every 100 g of pasta. For every liter of water, use 10 to 12 g of salt. Instead of penne, you can also use other types of pasta.
