Piadina with Baked Ham, Mozzarella, and Arugula
Piadina (also known as piada) is a popular Italian flatbread made without yeast, originating from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. It is used to create delicious snacks by spreading it with any desired spread and/or topping it with favorite cured meats and/or cheeses. Our suggestion is a combination of mozzarella, baked ham, and arugula.

Ingredients
-
4 pieces Tortilla, wheat
-
200 g Cheese, mozzarella
-
8 slice Meat, pork, smoked bacon
-
80 g Arugula
Steps
-
Drain the mozzarella well and coarsely grate or crumble it into small pieces. Wash and dry the arugula if necessary.
-
Place a large pan on the stove and heat it well. Sprinkle a little water on the hot pan, then place the piadina in it. Once it heats up on the bottom side, flip it over. Spread the mozzarella over the piadina, then arrange a few slices of ham on top. Add the arugula and fold the piadina in half. While flipping, lightly toast it on both sides so the mozzarella melts slightly.
-
Transfer the prepared piadina to a plate and serve immediately. Repeat the process until all piadinas are prepared. The filled piadinas can be served with a large bowl of seasonal salad.

Advice
A quicker way to prepare piadina is to top the bread with the chosen ingredients, fold it, and toast it in a sandwich press. Before adding the mozzarella, you can spread a bit of pesto on the piadina. Instead of piadina, you can also use a tortilla.
