Pipian Sauce

Ingredients

0.5 cups Seeds, pumpkin

0.5 cups Nuts, almonds

0.5 teaspoons Spices, cumin, seeds

1 piece Onion, raw

1 pod Garlic, fresh

1 piece Chili peppers, green chili, fresh

2 spoons Coriander, leaves, fresh

2 cups Soup base, chicken, cube

1 spoon Juice, lemon

In a large pan, dry roast the pumpkin seeds, almonds, and cumin seeds. Stir and when the pumpkin seeds puff up and the others turn golden brown, turn off the heat. Transfer everything to a food processor and grind well.

Peel the onion and garlic and cut into smaller pieces. Wash the chili and cilantro leaves and shake them dry. Remove the seeds from the chili if desired and cut it into smaller pieces. Pour the broth into the food processor and add all the vegetables (onion, garlic, chili, and cilantro leaves), then grind everything well again.

Pour the sauce into a pan and add the lime juice. Bring to a boil and cook uncovered over moderate heat for 20 minutes. Remove from heat and pour over the meat.
