First, prepare the crumble. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt. Add the cold butter cut into small cubes to the mixture. Rub the butter with the other ingredients between your fingers to create a crumbly, sandy mixture. There can be some larger lumps of dough. Store the bowl with the crumble in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Line a rectangular baking dish approximately 38 x 27 centimeters with baking paper. Wash and dry the plums, then cut them into quarters. Discard the pits.

In a larger bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Add the vanilla extract and salt. While mixing, gradually add the eggs one by one.

Mix the flour and baking powder together, then sift them into the butter, sugar, and egg mixture. Use a spatula to mix everything together until the ingredients combine into a uniform mass, which will be quite thick. Be careful not to overmix, just enough to ensure all ingredients are well combined.

Spread the prepared mixture evenly in the baking dish. Arrange the plum quarters on top, then sprinkle the crumble over them.

Bake the pastry in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes. It is done when a toothpick inserted comes out clean and the crumble turns golden brown. Let the pastry cool before serving, then dust with powdered sugar, cut into pieces, and serve.
