Popovers have completely captivated Americans. They are prepared in special metal molds and are eaten for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or as a snack. Since they can also be made in a muffin tin, they will surely find a place on your table as well.

225 ml Milk, whole milk

135 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose

Steps

Preheat the oven to 210 (220) degrees Celsius. Generously grease nine muffin tin cups with butter. Place the muffin tin in the oven.

In a large bowl, mix the milk, eggs, flour, and salt. Mix only until there are no lumps in the batter. Add melted butter and quickly mix again to achieve a smooth batter similar to pancake batter.

Fill the muffin tin cups halfway with the batter. Place the tin in the hot oven for 30 to 35 minutes. Do not open the oven during baking to prevent the batter from collapsing.

When the batter has puffed up nicely and turned golden brown, remove the tin from the oven. Wait a few minutes, then remove the popovers from the tin. Serve while still warm.

Advice
For preparation, we need 2 large or 3 smaller eggs. It is important that the eggs do not take up more than half the volume of the milk, as too much yolk can prevent the popovers from rising. Make small slits in freshly baked popovers with a knife to keep them crispy. Store cooled popovers in an airtight container.
