Poppy Seed Cake with Cottage Cheese
Quickly prepared poppy seed cake with cottage cheese can be served with vanilla cream, warm forest fruits, or mango puree (as in the photo). For those who dont want to bother with a side dish, you can also enjoy a glass of warm milk or cocoa alongside.

Steps

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius. Grease a baking dish measuring 32 x 25 centimeters with butter.

Cream the butter together with sugar until fluffy. Gradually, one by one, mix in the eggs. It is important to mix the mixture well each time an egg is added.

Add flour mixed with baking powder, poppy seeds, milk, and rum to the egg-butter mixture and mix the ingredients well.

Pour the prepared batter into the greased baking dish and spread it evenly over the entire surface with a spatula.

Prepare the cottage cheese cream. In a bowl, add all the ingredients except the eggs and mix well. Then add the eggs one by one and mix well to obtain a smooth mixture. Carefully spread the cottage cheese cream over the poppy seed cake. Bake the cake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Once baked, let it cool.

Dust the cooled cake with powdered sugar, cut into pieces, and serve.
