Poppy Seed Pie with Sour Cream and Jam
It could have been a cottage cheese pie, but in this recipe, cottage cheese is replaced with sour cream. The pie is just sweet enough, and the finishing touch is the jam, which is poured over the still-hot pastry. I chose peach jam, but you can use any other type. Next time, I’ll use walnuts instead of poppy seeds.

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius. Grease a round baking dish with a diameter of 26 centimeters with butter.

Quickly mix the flour, sugar, and butter into a crumbly dough. Wrap it in transparent food wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for half an hour.

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured work surface and place it in the baking dish. The dough should cover the bottom and the inner sides of the dish. While preparing the poppy seed filling, let the dough rest in the refrigerator.

In a bowl, whisk the egg and mix in the ground poppy seeds, jam, and vanilla sugar. Pour the filling onto the dough and spread it evenly over the entire surface. While preparing the sour cream filling, let the dough rest in the refrigerator.

In a bowl, whisk the eggs and add sour cream, sugar, vanilla pudding, and lemon zest. Mix the ingredients well to form a uniform mixture, which is then poured over the poppy seed filling.

Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 35 minutes. Meanwhile, heat the jam until it becomes liquid, then let it cool to room temperature. Pour the jam over the still-hot pie. Let the prepared dessert cool completely before serving.
