Ingredients
-
4 dl Milk, partially skimmed
-
60 g Sugar, white
-
2 spoons Honey
-
1 teaspoon Powdered sugar
-
1 spoon cherries, fresh
-
1 pinch Salt, table
-
1 spoon Alcohol, Rum
-
300 g Spices, poppy
-
300 g Dough, puff
-
300 g cherries, fresh
-
20 g Butter, unsalted
-
pieces Powdered sugar
Steps
-
Place a saucepan on the stove and add milk, sugar, honey, vanilla sugar, cherry jam, and a pinch of salt. Mix everything well and bring to a boil. Once it boils, remove from heat and stir in the poppy seeds, then bring to a boil again. Remove from heat, add rum, and let it sit for 20 minutes to allow the poppy seeds to swell.
-
Meanwhile, spread the puff pastry on a kitchen towel so that you can make two rolls. Wash the cherries, halve them, and remove the pits. Melt the butter and brush it over the puff pastry. Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
-
Mix the poppy seed filling well. Spread half of the filling over the pastry, then sprinkle half of the cherries on top. Repeat the same process for the second roll. Carefully roll each roll, starting from the buttered side of the pastry.
-
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and carefully place the rolls on it. Put the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 35 minutes. Remove the baked roll from the oven, let it cool slightly, slice, and serve. Optionally, you can dust it with powdered sugar.
