Ingredients
-
500 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
5 g Salt, table
-
15 g Yeast, dry
-
2 dl Milk, skimmed
-
1 spoon Honey
-
150 g Spices, poppy
Steps
-
Heat the milk to 20°C (so it is warm). Dissolve the yeast in 1.8 dl of milk. Sift the flour into a bowl and make a well in the center. Remove a tablespoon of flour and mix it into the dissolved yeast. Pour the yeast mixture into the well and cover it with 100 g of flour. Let the yeast rise for half an hour.
-
When cracks appear on the surface of the yeast, salt the flour around the edges and add between 0.5 dl and 1 dl of lukewarm water. Knead everything into a dough that should not be too soft. Knead the dough on a floured work surface until it becomes soft and does not stick to your hands or the surface. Shape the kneaded dough into a ball, cover it with a cloth, and let it rest for half an hour. Make sure the dough is not in a draft and is kept warm.
-
Quickly knead the risen dough and divide it into 2 equal parts, shaping them into 6 equal rolls. Arrange the rolls on a cloth and let them rise for another 15 minutes. Then brush the rolls with the remaining milk and sprinkle with poppy seeds. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and carefully place the rolls on it. Let them rise on the tray for another 30 minutes.
-
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Place the baking tray with the rolls in the oven and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the hot rolls from the tray and let them cool. Serve the cooled rolls.
