Ingredients
-
3 spoons Oil, plant, sunflower
-
4 pieces Meat, pork, thigh
-
0.25 teaspoons Salt, table
-
2 pinch Spices, pepper, black
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
4 pieces Apple, fresh
-
2 spoons Jam
-
1 spoon Vinegar, apple
-
200 dl Soup base, chicken, cube
Steps
-
Wash the pork chops and dry them well with paper towels. Lightly season both sides with pepper and salt. Peel the onion and cut it in half. Slice both halves into slightly thicker pieces. Wash the apples and remove the stems and cores. Cut them into eighths.
-
Heat half of the oil in a large pan. Place the seasoned chops on the hot oil and cook each side for about 3 to 4 minutes. Remove the cooked chops from the pan and keep them warm on a plate.
-
Pour the remaining oil into the pan and wait for it to heat up. Add the onion slices and sauté them over moderate heat, stirring occasionally, for 2 minutes. Then add the apples and sauté everything together, stirring occasionally, for another 3 minutes.
-
Once the apples and onions are sautéed, add the cranberry jam, vinegar, and broth to the pan. Stir well to dissolve the jam, then return the cooked meat to the pan. Increase the heat slightly to bring the sauce to a boil. Let the sauce simmer for 8 to 10 minutes to thicken slightly and soften the apples. After about 5 minutes, turn the chops so they soak up the sauce on both sides. Season the sauce with additional pepper and salt if needed.
-
Serve the chops on plates. Arrange the apples and onions alongside, then pour the sauce over everything. Serve with a side of your choice.

Advice
For extra flavor, mix a little ground cinnamon into the sauce. The dish can be served in a baking dish, first layering the apples, onion, and sauce, then arranging the chops on top.
