Pork Chops with Mustard and Apples
An excellent idea for a slightly different Sunday lunch that wont take more than 30 minutes to prepare. Mashed potatoes pair wonderfully with this dish, and you can also serve roasted vegetables on the side.

Ingredients
-
pieces Meat, pork, ribs
-
pieces Salt, table
-
3 spoons Honey
-
3 spoons Mustard
-
2 spoons Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
2 piece Apple, fresh
-
50 ml Juice, apple
Steps
-
Wash the pork chops, dry them with paper towels, and lightly season both sides with pepper and salt. In a small bowl, mix honey and mustard. Spread the mixture over the seasoned chops, using your fingers to rub it well into the meat.
-
Peel the onion, halve it, and slice it into pieces. Wash the apples and cut them into quarters, removing the cores. Slice the quarters into chunks. Heat oil in a pan, add the onion, and sauté it while stirring until it becomes translucent and slightly softened. Push the sautéed onion to the side of the pan. Add the seasoned pork chops to the pan and quickly sear them on both sides (about 5 minutes per side or until they turn lightly brown).
-
Remove the chops from the pan and set them aside on a plate. Add the apple chunks to the pan and quickly sauté them. Pour in the apple juice and use a spatula to scrape the bottom of the pan, releasing all the caramelized bits that formed during cooking. Return the pork chops to the pan and simmer everything together over moderate heat for another 10 minutes.
-
Place the pork chops on plates first, then top them with the stewed apples and onions. Pour the sauce over everything and serve the prepared dish with your chosen side.
