Ingredients
-
200 g Dried plums
-
350 ml Water
-
500 g Meat, turkey, breasts
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
1 piece Bell pepper, green, fresh
-
2 spoons Oil, olive
-
1 pinch Spices, pepper, black
-
1 pinch Salt, table
-
100 ml Sweet cream, partially skimmed
-
50 ml Water
-
1 spoon Juice, lemon
-
0.5 teaspoons Spices, cinnamon, ground
-
1 pinch Spices, pepper, red or cayenne
-
1 pinch Salt, table
Steps
-
Thoroughly wash the prunes and soak them in water. Wash the meat and cut it into small pieces, mix with two tablespoons of oil, and marinate in a covered container for about an hour. Drain the soaked prunes in a colander, but save the water they were soaked in.
-
Peel the onion and cut it into larger pieces. Also wash the green bell pepper, remove the seeds, and cut it into pieces. On wooden skewers or metal skewers, alternately thread the pork meat, prunes, onion, and green bell pepper. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
-
Light the charcoal and heat the grill.
-
Place the skewers on the grill and cook them for four to six minutes. Turn them several times during cooking so that the meat is evenly cooked on all sides.
-
Place a saucepan on the stove and heat the cream. Add the water that was left from soaking the prunes. Cook over moderate heat until the sauce thickens slightly (it should not boil). Then add lemon juice, ground cinnamon, cayenne pepper, and a pinch of salt. Serve the skewers on a plate, accompanied by the warm cinnamon sauce.

Advice
Its best to soak the prunes overnight. Instead of dried prunes, you can also use dried apricots, peaches, or pears. The skewers can also be grilled on a barbecue.
