Ingredients
-
pieces Oil, plant, sunflower
-
1 kg Potatoes, white
-
250 g Sauerkraut
-
pieces Salt, table
-
1 teaspoon Spices, mayonnaise, dried
-
1 teaspoon Spices, cumin, seeds
-
pieces Garlic, fresh
-
200 g Meat, pork, smoked bacon
-
3 pieces Egg, fresh
-
100 g Flour, Whole wheat
-
2 spoons Fat, beef tallow
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius. Peel the potatoes, wash them, and grate them finely. If necessary, squeeze them to remove excess liquid, then transfer them to a bowl.
-
Place the sauerkraut in a colander and taste it. If it seems too sour, quickly rinse it under running water. Drain the sauerkraut well, then chop it coarsely and add it to the bowl with the potatoes.
-
Add beaten eggs, flour, diced bacon, minced garlic, salt, pepper, marjoram, and cumin to the potatoes and sauerkraut. Mix the ingredients well with a mixer.
-
Grease the baking dish with oil or fat. Transfer the prepared mixture into the dish and spread it evenly over the entire surface with the mixer. Pour melted fat over the top. Place the dish in the preheated oven for 60 minutes. If the bake browns too quickly on top, cover the dish with aluminum foil.
-
Cut the baked dish into pieces. The dish can be served warm or cold.
