Steps
-
Clean and wash the celery. Peel the carrots (scrape if necessary) and wash them. Peel the onion. Finely chop all the vegetables. Cut the bacon into small pieces. Rinse the basil leaves under running water, dry them, and cut them into thin strips.
-
Place a larger pot on the stove and heat the butter and oil in it. Add the chopped vegetables to the heated fat and sauté for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened. Add the bacon and continue to sauté for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then add the tomato puree, tomato concentrate, and basil, mix well, and cook over moderate heat for 10 minutes.

Place a larger pot with an appropriate amount of salted water on the stove. When the water boils, add the gnocchi and cook them until they float to the surface. Drain the cooked gnocchi well.
-
Season the vegetable sauce with pepper and salt to taste. Add the cooked gnocchi to the pot with the sauce and mix well.
-
Drain the mozzarella well and cut it into small pieces. Serve the prepared dish on plates and sprinkle with the mozzarella pieces. Serve immediately.
