Ingredients
-
900 g Potatoes, white
-
1 teaspoon Mustard
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
0.5 teaspoons Salt, table
-
2 pinch Spices, pepper, black
-
150 g Ham, pressed
-
4 spoon Breadcrumbs, dried
-
4 spoon Oil, vegetable oil, canola
Steps
-
Peel, clean, and wash the potatoes. Cut them into smaller pieces, place them in a large pot, and cover with cold water so that all the potato pieces are fully submerged. Place the pot on the stove and cook until the potatoes are soft.
-
Drain the cooked potatoes well and transfer them to a bowl, where you mash them thoroughly with a potato masher. Mix the mashed potatoes with mustard, beaten egg, salt, and pepper. Finally, add the diced ham to the mixture.
-
Spread breadcrumbs on a shallow plate. With damp hands, shape the potato mixture into 18 small patties, coating them on both sides with breadcrumbs.
-
Place a large frying pan on the stove and heat the oil. Carefully place the prepared patties onto the hot oil and fry them over medium heat until golden brown on the bottom side (about 3 to 4 minutes). Then, carefully flip them and fry on the other side.
-
Remove the fried patties from the pan with a spatula and place them on kitchen towels to drain excess oil. Repeat the process until all the patties are cooked.

Advice
Instead of breadcrumbs, you can use flour. If the potato mixture is too runny, add another beaten egg or 1 to 2 tablespoons of flour.
