An excellent idea for a quick lunch or dinner. Instead of sour cream, you can also use Greek yogurt as a side. Serve with a large bowl of your favorite seasonal salad if desired.

Ingredients
-
1 kg Potatoes, white
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
pieces Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
2 piece Egg, fresh
-
pieces Salt, table
-
pieces Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
150 g Sour cream
Steps
-
Peel, clean, and wash the potatoes. Peel the onion.
-
Grate the vegetables (onion and potatoes) coarsely, then place them in a fine-mesh sieve. Press down with the back of a spoon (or your hand) to squeeze out as much excess liquid as possible. You can also place the vegetables in a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth and wring them out further.
-
Transfer the squeezed vegetables to a bowl and add flour, beaten egg, and seasonings. Mix well to form a uniform mixture.
-
Place a pan on the stove and heat a layer of oil about a finger's width deep. Use a spoon to scoop portions of the potato mixture and place them in the hot oil. Flatten them slightly with the back of the spoon. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are crispy and golden brown.
-
Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the pan and place them on a plate lined with paper towels. Repeat the process until all the mixture is used. Serve the patties warm with sour cream.
