Ingredients
Cream
-
1.5 bags Pudding, vanilla
-
500 ml Milk, whole milk
-
50 ml Alcohol, Rum
-
125 g Butter, unsalted
-
100 g Powdered sugar
Dough
-
125 ml Water
-
125 ml Milk, whole milk
-
100 g Butter, unsalted
-
1 pinch Salt, table
-
160 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
4 pieces Egg, fresh
-
pieces Powdered sugar
Steps
-
Place a pot on the stove and pour in the milk and water. Add the butter and a pinch of salt, and slowly heat the mixture over medium heat until it boils. Once it boils, remove the pot from the heat and add the sifted flour. Quickly stir to form a smooth mixture without lumps, then return the pot to the stove. Cook for another 2 minutes while continuously stirring, or until a large dough ball forms that easily separates from the sides of the pot and the stove. Remove from heat and let the dough cool for about 5 minutes.
-
Gradually mix the eggs into the dough using an electric mixer (one at a time). It’s important to thoroughly mix the ingredients each time you add an egg, so the egg binds well with the dough.
-
Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F). Line a low baking tray with parchment paper. Fill a piping bag with the prepared dough and pipe it into small mounds on the tray (use a star-shaped nozzle). Bake the princess donuts in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Once baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool completely.
-
Meanwhile, prepare the cream. In a small bowl, smoothly mix the pudding powder with a few tablespoons of milk. Pour the remaining milk into a pot and bring it to a boil. Remove the pot from the heat and mix in the pudding mixture. Return the pot to the stove and cook while continuously stirring until the pudding thickens. Mix in the rum and let the pudding cool.
-
Using an electric mixer, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar into a light cream, then gradually mix in the cooled pudding, one spoonful at a time.
-
Horizontally cut the princess donuts in half with a knife. Fill the bottom halves with the prepared cream. Place them on a tray or large plate, cover with the top halves, dust with powdered sugar, and serve.
