Puff Pastry Roll with Jam and Mascarpone
Quickly prepared puff pastry roll with jam and mascarpone will earn numerous compliments. You only need fresh puff pastry in a roll, mascarpone cheese, and strawberry jam. 1 spoon Powdered sugar

1 teaspoon Vanilla, extract, natural

Steps

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Crack an egg into a small bowl and beat it well with a fork. Mix the mascarpone with powdered sugar, half of the beaten egg, and vanilla extract. If desired, add a bit of grated lemon zest.

Unroll the puff pastry and place it on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Divide the dough into three parts, lightly scoring them with a knife to make the sections more distinct.

Spread the mascarpone mixture in the center of the dough and top it with strawberry jam. If the jam is too runny, mix in some cookie crumbs or ground nuts. Optionally, add some fresh fruit on top (blueberries, raspberries, strawberry pieces, etc.). Leave a few centimeters of dough uncoated at the top and bottom, which will be folded over the filling.

Cut the dough at the top and bottom and fold it over the filling.

Cut the left and right sides of the dough into strips, as shown in the photo below.

Braid the strips on the left and right sides to create a beautiful braid.

Brush the braid with the remaining beaten egg. If desired, sprinkle with almond flakes or crystal sugar.

Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake the braid for 25-30 minutes. It is done when it turns golden brown.

Let the baked braid cool slightly, then dust it with powdered sugar, slice it into pieces, and serve.
