Ingredients
-
4 pieces Small pumpkins
-
140 g Flour, Wheat, bread flour
-
1 spoon Koruzni škrob
-
1 teaspoon Salt, table
-
0.25 teaspoons Spices, pepper, black
-
pieces Oil, plant, sunflower
Steps
-
Wash the pumpkins and cut off both ends. Using a sharp knife, slice them into very thin rings (approximately 2 mm).
-
Meanwhile, in a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, and pepper with a fork. Lightly coat the pumpkin rings on both sides, shake off excess, and place them on a plate.
-
Heat oil in a deep pan with a thick bottom. The oil layer should be at least 3 cm high. The oil is hot enough when bubbles start to form around the handle of a wooden spoon dipped into the oil. Once the oil is hot, gradually fry the pumpkin rings until golden brown, which takes about 2 to 3 minutes. Remove the fried pumpkin chips from the oil with a slotted spoon. Place them on a plate lined with paper towels.
-
Allow the fried pumpkin rings to cool slightly and drain, then transfer them to a bowl and serve.

Advice
For frying, use fats that do not contain water, such as coconut fat or good quality oil. If desired, you can additionally salt the fried pumpkin rings.
