Quick Apple Dumplings

Wash the apples, peel them, and coarsely grate or chop them into pieces. Add an egg, wheat semolina, and salt, and mix everything well with a spoon to form a uniform dough. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.

With wet hands, shape the dough into walnut-sized dumplings and cook them in lightly salted boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes. They are done when they float to the surface.

Serve the boiled dumplings on plates, drizzle with melted butter, sprinkle with chopped nuts, sugar, and cinnamon, and serve immediately.
