Ingredients
-
150 g Semolina
-
100 g Flour, Wheat, bread flour
-
20 g Cocoa, powdered, unsweetened
-
180 g Sugar, white
-
100 g Nuts, hazelnuts
-
4 pieces Apple, fresh
-
1 spoon Juice, lemon
-
1 teaspoon Spices, cinnamon, ground
-
2 piece Egg, fresh
-
150 ml Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
250 ml Yogurt, plain, from whole milk
chocolate glaze
-
150 g chocolate, dark
-
50 ml Sweet cream
-
50 g Butter, unsalted
Steps
-
Wash the apples, peel them, and coarsely grate them using a grater. Pour lemon juice over them and mix. Set aside while you prepare the other ingredients.
-
Sift the flour, baking powder, and cocoa into a bowl. Add the breadcrumbs and ground cinnamon, and mix the ingredients well.
-
In another bowl, beat the eggs. Add sugar and whisk until frothy. Mix in the oil and yogurt. Gradually add the dry ingredients mixture.
-
Stir in the ground hazelnuts (walnuts) with a spoon or spatula, and finally add the grated apples.
-
Grease a medium-sized baking pan (30 x 25 cm) with butter and line it with baking paper. Pour the prepared mixture into the pan and smooth the top nicely.
-
Place the pan in the oven preheated to 180°C for 40-45 minutes. The cake is done when a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean. Remove the baked cake from the oven and let it cool.
-
Break or chop the chocolate into pieces. Melt it together with sweet cream and a little butter over a water bath to create a smooth chocolate mixture, which you then pour over the cooled cake. Wait for the chocolate glaze to cool and set.
-
Cut the cake into desired pieces, serve them on a plate or platter, and enjoy.

Advice
Instead of chocolate glaze, you can also use any marmalade to coat the baked cake, and then sprinkle it with some grated chocolate and/or ground hazelnuts/walnuts.
