Quick Pain au Chocolat
You only need a few ingredients and half an hour to treat your loved ones to a sweet treat that you can imagine as a slightly different chocolate croissant. You can use milk or dark chocolate, and sprinkle the delicious rolls with powdered sugar before serving if desired.

2 spoons Butter, unsalted

200 g chocolate, dark

1 piece Egg, fresh

1 spoon Water

Steps

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Melt the butter.

Unroll one sheet of puff pastry and brush it with melted butter. Cover it with another sheet of unrolled puff pastry.

Cut the pastry into strips, 6 centimeters wide. Break or cut the chocolate into 6 cm long pieces.

Place one piece of chocolate at the bottom end of the strip and roll the pastry just enough to cover it. Place another piece of chocolate next to it and roll the pastry strip to the end (see the video above).

Place the rolls on the baking tray and brush the tops with a mixture of beaten egg and water.

Bake for 20 minutes, let cool slightly, then sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
