Ingredients
- 1 kg Nuts, chestnut, fresh
Steps
-
Using a sharp knife, make a cross-shaped incision on the rounded side of each chestnut. It should be deep enough to pierce the hard shell but not cut into the flesh of the chestnut, as it may fall apart during roasting.
-
Heat a pan in which you will roast the chestnuts thoroughly. Once the pan is hot, add enough chestnuts to cover the bottom evenly. Be careful not to add too many. Roast them covered for 20 to 30 minutes. Stir the chestnuts well several times during roasting.
-
Transfer the roasted chestnuts onto a spread-out newspaper, wrap it tightly, and wait for 5 minutes. Then, pour the chestnuts into a bowl and enjoy them immediately, as they are best while still hot.
