Ingredients
-
1 kg Potatoes, white
-
0.75 teaspoons Salt, table
-
4 spoon Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
pieces Spices, pepper, black
-
4 twig Parsley, fresh
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Thoroughly wash the potatoes under running water and, if necessary, peel or scrub them. Dry them with a kitchen towel. Cut larger potatoes in half or quarters lengthwise if desired.
-
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and place the potatoes on it. Season with salt and drizzle with a little olive oil. Add pepper if desired. Mix well and bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes. If you wish, you can carefully turn the potatoes halfway through baking to ensure they brown evenly on both sides. Be careful when turning to avoid breaking the potatoes.
-
Rinse the parsley under running water, dry it, and finely chop it. Remove the roasted potatoes from the oven, sprinkle with parsley, and serve.

Advice
Roasted new potatoes pair excellently with cured bacon in chunks, spring onions, and salt. Cut the bacon into smaller cubes and enjoy it with the potatoes. The spring onions can be dipped in salt. This prepared meal is an old rural tradition that is still practiced as a mid-morning snack in many Slovenian villages.
