Ingredients
-
500 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
35 g Yeast, dry
-
1.25 dl Milk, whole milk
-
150 g Sugar, white
-
150 g Butter, unsalted
-
5 pieces Egg, fresh
-
1 pinch Salt, table
-
1.25 dl Sweet cream
-
75 g Raisins
-
4 cl Alcohol, Rum
-
1 piece Lemon, fresh, without shell
-
4 spoon Powdered sugar
Steps
-
Grate the zest of a bio lemon. Grease a larger šarkelj mold. Sift the flour into a larger bowl and make a well in the center. Crumble the yeast into the well and mix it with milk, a little sugar, and a bit of flour. Cover it and let it rise for about 15 minutes.
-
Place a small pot on the stove and melt the butter in it. Transfer the melted butter to a larger bowl and mix it with the remaining sugar, eggs, salt, and cream until frothy. Add the raisins, rum, lemon zest, all the flour, and the yeast, then knead all the ingredients into a dough.
-
Beat the dough with a hand mixer until bubbles start to form. Fill the šarkelj mold with the dough up to two-thirds, then let the dough rise for 20-30 minutes.
-
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Place the mold with the dough in the oven and bake for about 40-60 minutes. Then, invert it onto a wire rack and evenly dust it with powdered sugar.
-
Cut the cake into smaller pieces, serve them on plates, and offer them to your guests.
