Ingredients
-
120 g Cheese, Cheddar
-
6 pieces Potatoes, red
-
2 piece Onion, young
-
3 pods Garlic, fresh
-
1 spoon Butter, unsalted
-
6 slice Meat, pork, smoked bacon
-
8 pieces Sausage, chorizo
-
2 pinch Salt, table
-
2 pinch Spices, pepper, black
-
0.5 teaspoons Spices, ginger, ground
-
2 dl Soup base, beef, cube
Steps
-
Grate the cheese. Wash the potatoes. Place a pot on the stove, add the potatoes, and cover them with cold water. Cook for about 15 minutes.
-
Meanwhile, peel the onion and garlic, and finely chop them. Place a pan on the stove, heat it up, and then crisp the bacon in it.
-
Transfer the bacon to a plate, and quickly sauté the onion and garlic in the same pan until fragrant. Then transfer them to the plate. Slice the sausage into rings and quickly fry them in the same pan. Prepare a large deep baking dish and grease it well with a tablespoon of butter.
-
Once the potatoes are cooked, drain them, let them cool slightly, peel them, and then slice them. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Layer the baking dish with potato slices and sprinkle with bacon, onion, garlic, and sausage. Season with salt, pepper, and a bit of thyme, then pour in the broth. Finally, sprinkle everything with grated cheese.
-
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30–45 minutes. Remove the foil about 15 minutes before the end of baking. Once the dish is ready, serve it on plates and offer it to your guests.

Advice
Instead of cheddar cheese, you can also use another type of cheese that melts well. Instead of chorizo sausages, you can use other spicy sausages.
