Ingredients
-
2 spoons Oil, olive
-
4 pieces Carniolan sausage
-
1 piece Cabbage, fresh
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
1 piece Bell pepper, green, fresh
-
0.5 teaspoons Salt, table
-
2 pinch Spices, pepper, black
-
1 dl Water
Steps
-
Place the Kranjska sausages in a pot and cover them with cold water. Place the pot on the stove and wait for the water to boil. Then drain the sausages and cut them in half crosswise. Make shallow cuts about 0.5 cm deep on both sides of the sausages at even intervals using a thin, sharp knife.
-
Clean the cabbage, wash it, cut it into quarters, and remove the core. Cut the cabbage into 2 to 3 cm pieces. Peel the onion, wash it, and finely chop it. Wash the bell pepper, remove the stem and seeds, and cut it into chunks.
-
Heat a large deep pan and add 1 tablespoon of oil. Once the oil is hot, fry the sausages. Cook them for 3 minutes on each side. Set the fried sausages aside in a warm place.
-
In the same pan, heat another tablespoon of oil. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper and quickly sauté them just until the onion softens slightly. Add the cabbage and stew it over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring gently. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
-
Place the fried sausages on top of the cabbage and add a little water to the pan. Cover the pan, reduce the heat, and simmer the dish for another 15 to 20 minutes. The cabbage should not be completely soft but still slightly crunchy.
-
Serve the prepared dish on plates with homemade bread.
