Ingredients
-
4 pieces Egg, fresh
-
4 spoon Sugar, white
-
1 bag Sugar, white
-
4 spoon Semolina
-
1 spoon Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
1 teaspoon Baking powder
-
5 dl Milk, whole milk
-
pieces Butter, unsalted
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease a baking dish, sized 30 x 20 centimeters, with butter or oil.
-
Separate the egg whites from the yolks into two bowls. Beat the egg whites into stiff peaks. Gradually add regular and vanilla sugar and continue beating until you get a smooth and shiny meringue. While beating, mix in the yolks one by one.
-
Gently fold the semolina into the egg mixture with a spatula, and finally add the flour and baking powder. Pour the mixture into the baking dish and smooth it out nicely.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, until the sponge cake starts to pull away from the sides of the dish. Pour milk over the still hot sponge cake, let it cool to room temperature, then place the dish in the refrigerator for at least two hours before serving.
-
You can sprinkle the pastry with cinnamon or cocoa powder before serving.
