Ingredients
-
200 ml Milk, whole milk
-
30 ml Sweet cream
-
1 spoon Sugar, brown
-
20 g Yeast, dry
-
400 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
2 teaspoons Salt, table
-
20 g Butter, unsalted
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
pieces Oil, olive
-
pieces Sesame seeds, dried
Steps
-
In a cup, combine milk, cream, and sugar. While stirring, heat to 40 degrees Celsius, then remove from heat and crumble or sprinkle in the yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
-
Meanwhile, in a bowl, mix flour and salt. Add butter and crumble it into the flour. Pour in the milk with yeast, crack the egg and add it, leaving one tablespoon for brushing the buns.
-
Mix the wet ingredients with the dry ones using a mixer, then transfer everything to the counter. Knead for 15 minutes to get a smooth and elastic dough.
-
Place the dough in a bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise at room temperature for 90 minutes.
-
After the first rise, divide the dough into 6 parts for larger buns or 8 parts for smaller ones. Shape each piece into a ball. Watch the video above for the shaping process!
-
Line a baking tray with parchment paper, grease it, and place the dough balls on it with some space between them. Cover with a damp cloth and let them rise for another 90 minutes.
-
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Brush the buns with the remaining egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for 20 minutes, then cool on a wire rack.
