Ingredients
Cream
-
120 g Yogurt, plain, from whole milk
-
100 ml Sweet cream
-
0.25 teaspoons Orange, shell
-
1.5 spoons Honey
-
340 g Yogurt, plain, from skimmed milk
-
3 pieces Egg, fresh
-
160 ml Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
170 g Sugar, white
-
1 teaspoon Orange, shell
-
2 spoons Juice, orange
-
1 teaspoon Vanilla, extract, natural
-
300 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
2.5 teaspoons Baking powder
-
0.75 teaspoons Baking powder
-
1 pinch Salt, table
Steps
-
Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl. Add salt and baking soda and mix the dry ingredients well.
-
In another bowl, mix sugar, Greek yogurt, oil, orange juice, grated zest, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix the ingredients with an electric mixer until you get a uniform mixture, then pour it into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Quickly mix the dry and wet ingredients to get a fairly thick batter without lumps.
-
Line the bottom of a round cake pan (22 cm in diameter) with baking paper, then lightly grease the bottom and sides with butter.
-
Pour the prepared batter into the pan and spread it evenly with a spatula, smoothing the top. Place the pan in the oven preheated to 180°C for 50-60 minutes. The cake will develop a beautiful golden brown color on top and sides during baking. If it browns too quickly, you can cover it with a piece of aluminum foil or baking paper towards the end of baking. The cake is done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
-
Remove the baked cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes on a wire rack. Then carefully remove the sides and let the cake cool completely.
-
Once the cake has cooled, prepare the yogurt cream. In a bowl, combine yogurt, sweet cream, honey, and grated orange zest. Mix the ingredients on low speed for 30 seconds, then gradually increase the speed to the highest level and mix until you get a thick cream. Spread the cream over the cooled cake. Optionally, sprinkle chopped pistachios on top.
