Ingredients
-
4 spoon Butter, unsalted
-
60 g Sugar, white
-
1 bag Sugar, white
-
2 piece Egg, fresh
-
220 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
1 teaspoon Baking powder
-
180 ml Milk, whole milk
-
2 cups cherries, fresh
-
pieces Powdered sugar
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl. Mix the sifted ingredients well.
-
Cream the softened butter and sugar together. Gradually, one by one, mix in the eggs. Then add the mixture of dry ingredients and milk.
-
Grease a deep square baking dish (22 cm side) with butter and dust it with flour (remove any excess flour). Pour the batter into the dish and spread it evenly with the back of a spoon or spatula, smoothing the top. Scatter the cherries over the batter. Bake the pastry in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes. It is done when a skewer inserted into the pastry comes out clean.
-
Remove the baked pastry from the oven and let it cool in the baking dish. While still warm, dust the top with powdered sugar. Once cooled, cut it into equal-sized pieces, serve on a plate or platter, and accompany with a cup of warm or cold beverage.
