Simple Strawberry Cake with Cinnamon

Steps

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Line the bottom of a round springform pan (23 cm in diameter) with parchment paper and grease the sides with butter. Clean the strawberries (rinse them under running water if necessary) and cut them into smaller pieces.

In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, cream the softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Then mix in the eggs, followed by the milk, flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and ground almonds. Once you have a uniform batter, gently and slowly fold in 1/3 of the strawberries.

Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan using a spatula and smooth the top. Scatter the remaining strawberries over the batter. Gently press the strawberry pieces into the batter with your fingers so they don't burn during baking. Bake the cake in the preheated oven for 40 to 50 minutes. After 30 minutes of baking, check the cake. If the top is browning too quickly, cover it with a piece of aluminum foil or parchment paper. Continue baking until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let the baked cake cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, place it on a nice plate or platter, dust with powdered sugar, and serve.
