Simple Winter One-Pot Stew
A dish that will warm you up all the way to spring and beyond. After simple preparation, you can leave the cooking to the oven while you enjoy the pleasant aromas. A pot that can be used both on the stove and in the oven will come in handy, or you can simply transfer the dish before baking. The stew will be especially delicious if served with a spoonful of sour cream or Greek yogurt.

Ingredients

2 spoons Oil, olive

100 g Meat, pork, smoked bacon

1 kg Meat, beef, side

1 piece Onion, raw

250 g Carrot, fresh

1.5 dl Alcohol, Wine, Red

1 can Tomato, pieces - can

450 ml Soup base, beef, cube

1 pod Garlic, fresh

1 piece Spices, bay (leaves)

Steps

Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius. Cut the bacon into strips and the beef into bite-sized cubes. Finely chop the onion, and slice the carrot into strips or, if desired, into rounds. Peel and crush the garlic clove.

In a larger heatproof pot, heat the olive oil and fry the bacon and beef for three minutes. Then remove both from the pot and sauté the onion until softened. Add the carrot and continue to sauté the ingredients in the pot for a bit longer.

Pour in the wine and bring to a boil, then add all the remaining ingredients, namely the tomatoes, beef stock, garlic clove, and bay leaf. Season with salt and pepper, then cover the pot or transfer the dish to a baking dish. Cover the pot or baking dish and place it in the preheated oven for two hours.

Serve the winter stew with fresh parsley, and it will be especially tasty if you add a spoonful of sour cream or Greek yogurt.
