Ingredients
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
750 g Meat, beef, ground
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
2 pod Garlic, fresh
-
2 teaspoons Spices, pepper, black
-
0.25 teaspoons Salt, table
-
2 spoons Plum sauce
-
1 spoon Worcestershire sauce
-
2 twigs Rosemary, fresh
-
2 twigs Mint
-
1 piece Onion, young
-
pieces Oil, plant, sunflower
Steps
-
Peel the onion and chop it finely. Wash the herbs and shake them well, peel the garlic and crush it with a knife. Chop the herbs and garlic finely. Crack the egg into a bowl and lightly beat it with a whisk.
-
In a bowl, mix together the meat, herbs, onion, garlic, egg, pepper, salt, and sauces. Knead with your hands to form a uniform mixture. Use a spoon to scoop out portions of the mixture and shape them into small balls with your hands.
-
Heat the frying oil well in a large pan (wok). Place the balls into the hot oil and fry them for about 5 minutes until they turn brown. Turn them while frying to ensure they are evenly cooked on all sides. Fry them in batches; there should not be too many balls in the pan at once. Shake the pan occasionally while frying to prevent the balls from sticking to the bottom.
-
Remove the fried balls from the pan with a slotted spoon and drain them on a paper towel. Transfer them to a plate. Drain the pearl onions and skewer them onto toothpicks, then add one meatball to each toothpick. Arrange the prepared skewers on a serving plate and serve with tomato sauce.

Advice
Fry in a large amount of fat. The food should float in it. For frying, use fats that do not contain water, such as coconut oil or good quality oil. The fat is hot enough for frying if small bubbles form around a wooden spoon handle.
