Ingredients
-
4 pieces Meat, turkey, loaf
-
pieces Salt, table
-
3 pods Garlic, fresh
-
2 spoons Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
2 spoons Honey
-
1 spoon Mustard
-
1 spoon Thyme, fresh
-
pieces Water
-
50 g Butter, unsalted
Steps
-
Rinse the turkey thighs under running water and dry them thoroughly with paper towels. Season them with salt and pepper.
-
Peel the garlic and crush it into a paste with a pinch of salt. Mix it with honey, oil, thyme, and mustard. Spread this mixture over the seasoned turkey thighs and place them skin-side up in a baking dish. Roast in the oven preheated to 160°C (320°F) for about 3 hours.
-
Baste the turkey thighs several times during roasting with the sauce that forms in the baking dish. After one hour, flip them over to brown the other side. If necessary, add a little liquid (water or broth) to the dish.
-
In the last hour of roasting, flip the turkey thighs again so the skin side is facing up. When the meat is almost fully cooked, top it with small pieces or slices of butter. Some of the butter will soak into the meat, while the rest will blend into the sauce.
-
Serve the roasted turkey thighs with the sauce on plates. Pair them with mashed potatoes. Sprinkle the dish with some chopped parsley before serving.
