100 g Candied fruit

375 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose

Steps

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius, line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Finely chop the walnuts and candied orange peel. Sift the flour into a bowl and mix it with salt.

In a bowl with an electric mixer, cream the softened butter and powdered sugar. Mix in the orange extract, chopped walnuts, candied orange peel, and finally the flour.

Shape the dough into walnut-sized balls (about two teaspoons of dough for each ball) and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes. They should remain almost completely light, only the edges and bottom may slightly brown.

Transfer the baked cookies to a wire rack. Generously dust them with powdered sugar and let them cool completely before serving.
