Ingredients
-
800 g Potatoes, white
-
700 g Okra
-
2 spoons Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
150 ml Milk, whole milk
-
150 ml Sour cream
-
3 pieces Egg, fresh
-
0.5 teaspoons Salt, table
-
2 pinch Spices, pepper, black
-
60 g Cheese, Parmesan, grated
-
150 g Meat, pork, smoked bacon
Steps
-
Rinse the potatoes well under running water (scrub them if necessary), place them in a large pot, and cover with cold water. The water should be about two fingers above the potatoes. Salt the water, place the pot on the stove, and bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat and simmer the potatoes, covered, for another 20 minutes. Check if the potatoes are cooked by inserting a thin knife. Drain the cooked potatoes and let them cool slightly.
-
Clean the sorrel and separate it into individual leaves, then rinse them under running water. Cut the leaves into wide strips. In a large pot, bring a generous amount of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the sorrel and cook just until it softens slightly (about 2 minutes). Drain the sorrel well.
-
Cut the bacon into small pieces. Peel the potatoes and slice them into pieces of your desired thickness. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Grease a deep ovenproof dish well with oil. Layer the sorrel and potatoes alternately in the dish. Finally, sprinkle the bacon pieces on top.
-
In a bowl, mix sour cream, milk, eggs, half of the grated cheese, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture over the ingredients in the dish. Finally, sprinkle the remaining cheese on top. Place the dish in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes.
-
Once the dish is ready, serve it on plates and offer it with homemade bread or a side of your choice.
