Steps

Place the ground meat in a large bowl. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Add half of the chopped onion, the egg, and breadcrumbs to the meat. Season with salt and nutmeg to taste. Mix everything well with clean hands to ensure the ingredients are thoroughly combined. With wet hands, shape the mixture into small meatballs.

Place a large pan on the stove and heat 1 dl of oil. Fry the meatballs on all sides until browned. In a large pot, bring four liters of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the time indicated on the package.

Meanwhile, in the pan, sauté the finely chopped onion in a mixture of butter and oil. Before it turns golden, add tomato paste. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then add the meatballs and simmer on medium heat for about 15 minutes.

Drain the cooked spaghetti well and serve on plates. Top with the prepared sauce, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, and serve.
