Spiced Syrup
Heres a great idea for a quick Christmas or New Years gift. Prepare a spiced syrup, pour it into beautiful bottles, and pair it with an excellent recipe for mulled wine. The recipe goes like this: in a large pot, mix 700 ml of red wine, a few orange slices, and 400 ml of syrup, bring it to a boil, pour into glasses, and serve.

Ingredients

250 g Sugar, white

pieces Orange, shell

10 pieces Spices, cloves, ground

In a pot, add orange peel, sugar, cloves, allspice, nutmeg, and a cinnamon stick. Pour in 1 liter of water and place it on the stove. Heat over moderate heat, stirring occasionally, until the syrup comes to a boil.

Once the syrup boils, reduce the heat slightly and let it simmer gently for 20 minutes. Remove the pot from the heat and let the syrup cool.

While the syrup is cooling, prepare the bottles. First, wash them thoroughly, then dry them in an oven preheated to 80 degrees Celsius.

Strain the cooled syrup through a fine sieve. Fill the hot bottles with the strained syrup and seal them tightly. Store the syrup in a dry, dark, and cool place.

Advice
