Stewed Apples with Blackberries and Walnut Butter Crumbs
Since the butter crumbs are first baked in the oven, they remain crispy even after being sprinkled over the stewed fruit. The dessert is best when still warm, and for an even greater treat, serve it with a scoop of good ice cream or cold whipped cream.

Ingredients
Butter crumbs
-
70 g Walnuts
-
175 g Flour, Whole wheat
-
0.25 teaspoons Spices, cinnamon, ground
-
80 g Sugar, white
-
90 g Butter, unsalted
-
40 g Butter, unsalted
-
70 g Sugar, white
-
300 g Apples, rose
-
200 g Blackberry, fresh
-
2 pinch Spices, cinnamon, ground
-
1 handful Walnuts
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius. Line a low baking tray with parchment paper. In a bowl, mix ground walnuts, sugar, cinnamon, and flour. Sprinkle the mixture with cold butter cut into pieces. Using your fingertips, work the butter into the dry ingredients until a crumbly mixture forms. Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, until the butter crumbs turn lightly golden. Be careful not to let the crumbs burn on the edges.
-
While the crumbs are baking, prepare the fruit. Wash the apples, peel them, and cut them into quarters. Remove the cores and seeds, then slice the quarters into pieces. Place a pan with butter and sugar on the stove. Heat over moderate heat for about 4 minutes until a light caramel forms. Add the apples and cook them in the caramel for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Finally, add the blackberries and cinnamon, and cook for another 3 minutes. Cover the pan and let the fruit stew for 2 to 3 minutes.
-
Transfer the fruit to an ovenproof baking dish. Coarsely chop the walnut kernels. First, sprinkle the baked butter crumbs over the fruit, then add the chopped walnuts. Place the dish back in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes.
-
The dessert can be served warm or well-chilled before serving. Offer it with ice cream, custard, Greek yogurt, or whipped cream.

Advice
Instead of blackberries, you can use raspberries, strawberries, or a mix of forest fruits.
