Stewed Peas with Bacon

Ingredients

2.5 spoons Oil, vegetable oil, canola

3 pieces Shallot

400 g Beans, fresh

0.5 dl Soup base, chicken, cube

2 pinch Salt, table

1 pinch Spices, pepper, white

100 g Meat, pork, smoked bacon
Steps

Peel and finely chop the shallot. Heat oil in a deep pan and sauté the chopped shallot for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened.

Add the peas and mix well. Pour in the broth, cover, and simmer on low heat for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the peas are tender. Season with pepper and salt to taste.

Cut the bacon slices into smaller pieces. Place a frying pan on the stove and heat it. Add the bacon to the hot pan and fry, stirring occasionally, until crispy.

Transfer the stewed peas to a serving bowl, top with the bacon pieces, and serve.

Advice
Instead of broth, you can use water, and shallots can be replaced with onions. If using frozen peas instead of fresh ones, stew them for only 5 to 10 minutes.
